Meeting WKL​

• Went out and meet WKL for CPS's fitting
• We also meeting earlier at Lungo, drink latte, chill, talks about my interview, her vietnam trip etc
• We then go to fitting, bro that fucking toilet is so hard to find
• Then we went to Aeon, buy compression bags
• Then go to 周記 for 燒賣, damn it was good
• At last go to 金園, eggtart is sold out so said, but i got 菠蘿包
• Mum got me facewash, OMFG

• Had an interview with Chaos Theory's Marvin, i dun think i will be proceeded, but it was a good interview, 一鳩打醒左我.

  • He focuses a lot on whats my reason leaving both company, what do i want in the future
  • He criticized me for being an escaper from problems
  • My take:
    • That critic is partially fair, but i do think the reason is a bit different from he thinks.
    • I did not escape from the problem, i don't think i escaped from the pressure as well.
    • I also cant directly say choco up culture suck ass, i dun want to work there anymore
    • But i do tend to avoid hard problem, and try to delay them as long as i can
    • Like right now, i am basically escaping from my responsibility, and what i should do
    • This is the 一鳩 part
    • And i do think i have a clear goal of what i want to do in the next job, i just dun think i can achieve it now

• So, lets actually work my ass off, no, lets actually re focus, week by week do what i should do

Job Hunting​

• The worst ever interviewer i have ever met, at the second interview with Fleet
  • This is the first time i face a rather offensive, rude and egoistic interviewer, from convo you can feel he dun actually knows a lot about engineering.
  • I really hate getting asked a vague general design question, i will always give vague simple answers to it. The real world does not work like that, thats not a healthy communication, thats just simply interview for interviewing, i hate that so much.
  • The fact he asked me how to avoid hash collision, granted that idk the answer, i choked here, but it implies he want me to answer something he knows and probably proud of, i have been there, and thats not healthy or helpful in screening candidates
  • He asked me whats the most complex proj i have done, i give my ans. He says it is not complex at all, 1. Rude, he should keep that judgement to himself. 2. Its not a 10/10 complex proj, but surely it is an average complex problem. He probably dun understand or even tries to follow what i say
  • overall i find the interview experience fucking sucks, seems like they are looking for a different person each round, they do a bad job at screening people. Feels like they want to hire a sa but not a senior dev
• I think because the two interviews are too polarizing, they decided to give me a third interview. I kinda dun want to deal with them anymore, but i dun think i have a choice.
• Cathay hr forgot to press accept participants, and i waited for 15 mins, at last she rescheduled

Sorry, i know, i did not keep track of my life from Jan 26th to Jan 28th. I am a bit sick these days, and i am trying my best to not faint while do interview preparation

• Interviewed at Fleet at 9 freaking 30, i am literally dying inside and outside. but the format is quite interesting
  • they got a panel technical interview, and them a coffee chat like interview
  • the office is crazy good, also crazy far

• The next day is the fleet interview, studying nodejs stuff

• Also the worst interview i ever performed
  • But the interviewer actually tried to give me chance, tried to know more about me
  • He did not waste mine or his time
  • The technical level is just too far away
• I really appreciated the interviewer still give me a quite comprehensive feedback
• I believe i tried my best, sometimes it is still not enough, but it's ok
