Job Hunting​

• The worst ever interviewer i have ever met, at the second interview with Fleet
  • This is the first time i face a rather offensive, rude and egoistic interviewer, from convo you can feel he dun actually knows a lot about engineering.
  • I really hate getting asked a vague general design question, i will always give vague simple answers to it. The real world does not work like that, thats not a healthy communication, thats just simply interview for interviewing, i hate that so much.
  • The fact he asked me how to avoid hash collision, granted that idk the answer, i choked here, but it implies he want me to answer something he knows and probably proud of, i have been there, and thats not healthy or helpful in screening candidates
  • He asked me whats the most complex proj i have done, i give my ans. He says it is not complex at all, 1. Rude, he should keep that judgement to himself. 2. Its not a 10/10 complex proj, but surely it is an average complex problem. He probably dun understand or even tries to follow what i say
  • overall i find the interview experience fucking sucks, seems like they are looking for a different person each round, they do a bad job at screening people. Feels like they want to hire a sa but not a senior dev
• I think because the two interviews are too polarizing, they decided to give me a third interview. I kinda dun want to deal with them anymore, but i dun think i have a choice.
• Cathay hr forgot to press accept participants, and i waited for 15 mins, at last she rescheduled

HT Studio​

• I have done enough on the refactor, i learned and feel satisfied and dun want to that the rest anymore. I am delegating to AI to finish the rest
  • Finalized how insert mode work, added the foundation, the rest is just hotkey, and the migration
• Added a few feature in random.py
  • IPC Communication with mpv. Seriously, the fact that mpv has a native feature that allows user to communicate with it via an IPC socket is so amazing and insane.
  • Basically the flow is:
    • When random loop starts, i kickstarted two IPC server (two socket file)
    • One is passed to mpv, for mpv side to receive messages. The other one is for mpv side to send messages to python side
    • mpv side detect keypress, send event through socket to python process to retag.
    • when python process done retagging, send a message to mpv via the second socket.
  • Fixed some random bug too

• Resumed listening to Enter the Misanthropocene by Abhorrent Expanse
  • It is way enjoyable than i already thought of, i need to do a few more listening, and watch the interview, i want to do some writeups.
• Turns out Wirtual's Trackmania videos is the best companion when doing deep listening session, much better than Rocket League
• I realized falling asleep with content, is the worst way to fall asleep. I will force myself to go thru the ambient session before sleeping from now on.

• I said i finished the project YTD, well... i spent another day on it, it is just very fun, and stress-fress to put all of my efforts into building this
